Almost 16 weeks

Today I am 15 weeks and 4 days and I have my 16 week check up on Monday, which im so excited for. I feel like my pregnancy is going so slow and I am really hoping that they will be able to tell the sex of the baby when i get my ultrasound. i know that I will be really bummed if we cant find out, which I know is a very real possibility. But I have high hopes.. My twins are getting more and more excited about this baby as well. it is so cute to see them try to kiss the baby in my belly. The funniest part is i really dont have a belly yet, but they know that there is a baby in Mommy's belly and they tell me they love him/her all the time. So cute I love my kids. I hope the weekend goes fast...

25 Random things about me

1. I happen to think that there is always too much carbonation in bottled soda, so i have a habit of shaking the bottle repeatedly and releasing the excess carbonation until it is to my liking.(yes my family and friends make fun of me for this)

2. I think Mike Meyers is probably my favorite actor everything that man does makes me laugh. On the opposite side I think Matthew Broderick is one of the worst actors i have ever seen... after all you cant spell broderick without ICK!

3. I have a small black dog that is very cute but i have become convinced that deep down inside her somewhere she is really a blonde. If you saw her im sure you would agree.

4. With my current pregnancy I have found that potato chips are like crack and that I might even trade my husband to get some.

5. I like many of my friends have a tendency to use movie quotes in my everyday conversation while I find it hilarious the most common reaction i get is the look of confusion

6. I think that we as a nation need to learn to be more self reliant. I have a vegetable garden..i may not be able to make potato chips but if shit ever hit the fan i could sure as heck grow my own potatoes.

7. Summer in Arizona is by far the worst in my opinion if you manage to actually make it to your car without collapsing form heat stroke you have the pleasure of looking forward to burning yourself on everything in your car once you get there. the seat, the steering wheel, the seat belt, the window, the stick shift and the list goes on...

8. I have unfortunately had the pleasure of having my butt cheek groped by a 70 year old man in a wheel chair when i worked in a nursing home ( you might think they dont know whats going on, but they do)

9. When I was little every time I got a tootsie roll pop I would try to count how many licks it would take to get to the center, i never did figure it out..sigh

10. I would really like to know why yawns are contagious...really wish i knew

11. The two most overused words in my vocabulary are: dude and seriously... its sad but they can mean so many different things it all depends on how you say them.

12. pickles are also pregnancy crack.. I should probably make a list for my husband titled " potential things you could be traded for".

13. once when i was little I dared my brother to stick his tongue on the metal part of the freezer door, which he did ,and his tongue stuck to it. he then ripped it off and proceeded to burn it with hot coco after which i laughed so hard i cried. The worse part it was my older brother.

14. I always think about what i would do if I won the lottery, the only problem is i dont play so why do I think about what I would do if i won... hmm i dont know just something to think about I guess

15. My career goal in life is to become a nurse, and I am very close to becoming that, I have finished all my pre reqs and co reqs now im just waiting for a spot to open up in nursing school.

16. I think all those jokes about Chuck Norris are hilarious.. i wonder how all that got started

17. I wish our government wasnt so corrupt and im really worried about the future of our country.

18. I have little to no patience for stupid people, i really wish they came with warnings so you knew what you were about to get into.

20. When i was little I was afraid of the McDonalds moon man. You know the guy with the half a moon for a head. Im glad they took him away.

21. im not a hippie or anything, but I really think that there needs to be more effort made to save the trees and fix the environment.

22. I want to travel the world when i retire, maybe even a little sooner when my kids get a little older.

23. I play WOW not very often but I do play.

24. Once when i was about ten we went to feed the ducks at the park and I had this great idea that I could throw it much further if I stood on the big boulder the was at the edge of the lake. So I got up there and threw the popcorn as hard as i could, to my dismay I lost my footing and went with the popcorn. I was so grossed out I was sure that I was going to be contaminated by duck poop.

25. I love cereal. all kinds, I can eat cereal for dinner or lunch there are so many different kinds its great i recommend it

Pregnancy blahs

i have always heard that every pregnancy is different. And I am starting to see that very same truth for myself. While I am only about 7 weeks along, there are already some pretty big differences between my first pregnancy and this one. For example I had a great first pregnancy, No morning sickness, no food aversions, nothing. This pregnancy however...I have the great pleasure of experiencing extreme bloating after every meal. I can eat like 4 little snack pickles and 10 mins later feel like I just stuffed my face at a thanksgiving dinner. Not to mention the extra stomach cramps that come with the bloating. Then with my first pregnancy I was very even tempered I never had mood swings, this one look out. How can one feel so annoyed at nothing? Yesterday I was so annoyed at nothing. Nothing happened to make me feel that way I just did. Then I felt more annoyed at myself for feeling annoyed at nothing in the first place...sigh The only thing that has stayed consistent with both pregnancies is that I do not suffer from morning sickness (thank the lord). Even with all the little annoyances that come with pregnancy, i am still grateful and excited to be blessed with this baby. Thats right baby singular..haha! There is only one sac this time. I go for another ultrasound in a couple days to see the heart beat and check for identical twins. (I dont think there will be two though).But ill keep yall updated.

Three year old talk

So there I was standing at the refrigerator with my two three year olds asking them what they wanted for lunch. And as usual I got a string of "I want dat" to like everything in the refrigerator. So I open the freezer and give them a choice of taquitos or pizza. And as always Blythe says "I want pizta-quitos" and Bresse says "I dont likt dat". So I say you get either pizta or quitos. And after several minuets of jiber they settle on pizta. I put the pizta in the microwave and get asked at least 10 times about the pizta. And as I stood there cutting up the pizta I realized that I was talking just like them. Pizta, quitos, hungy.... And i wondered how often i talked like my three year olds and how strange people must think I am out in public. I can just see it.. there I am at the grocery store my kids asking for a cootie and and me standing at the bakery asking them " you want m&m cootie, or peanut butter cootie" or at the restaurant when they say i hungy me responding back " you hungy?" Oh the looks I must get. It will be interesting to see just how often i do that now that I am conscious of it. While I am sure that I am not the only parent who does this I do in fact find it very amusing.

My girls turned 3 and got their ears pierced

Wow what a birthday! So for the last couple of months my twins have been asking me to get their ears pierced. After careful thought about their request i decided to test them to see just how much they wanted their ears pierced. Every time they asked to get their ears pierced I would ask them if they wanted it even though it is going to hurt? Bresse continued to be very excited about it while Blythe didnt seem to be so interested anymore with that development. I decided to Just get Bresses ears pierced and take Blythe to pick out a toy. So off we went to the mall and Bresse sat in the chair and was a very big girl...until her ears were actually pierced at which point she burst into tears. However the up side to being a three year old is that candy makes everything ok. As soon as she saw the lollipops they had in the tin the tears immediately dried up and she was happy. It was this point (to my great surprise i might add) that Blythe climbed up in the chair and asked to have her ears pierced too. I asked her even though it will hurt she said yes and got her ears pierced too, having the same reaction as her sister along with the instant turn around at the site of the lollipops. A couple days later we had their birthday party. They were so excited and hyped up on sugar that I thought they might explode. T climax came when it was time to open presents. I sat them down in the middle of the floor and gave them each a present to open. As soon as Bresse opened the first present she just lost it. It was a skirt and as soon as the paper was off she picked it up and ran around the entire room yelling " a skurt! a skurt!" once the entire room had seen her skirt she sat back down and asked for another present. Blythe was more calm until she opened all of her presents and couldnt decide which one she actually wanted to play with. But overall it was a very fun experience, I can only imagine what Christmas will be like.

From April to November way too much to remember

So I started this blog site in april and it is now November and I have neglected to blog anything in the months between then and now. But life has been so busy in those months so here is a small recap to get caught up. In may I finished my spring semester, in June I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off planning my wedding, in July I continued to run around like a chicken with my head cut off doing last minute wedding details and got married July 31st. The wedding was a blast and went off without a hitch. In august I went on a great honeymoon and started back to school for the fall semester. September and october was really just about school, which brings me to November and Thanksgiving only a couple of days away. While I am very excited about Thanksgiving I am curious to see how my twins are going to handle all the excitement that this year is going to bring with now two families to visit. I am sure they are going to sleep well that night.

The introduction of the Slip n' slide

I just recently decided that I wanted to try my hand at blogging so what better way to start out then to blog about introducing my two year old twin girls to a slip n' slide. About a month or so ago my mom came home with an original slip n' slide. I smiled when I saw it because I remember how much I liked those when i was a kid. As I sat there reminiscing about the good ole days of my youth, I realized that i was at least 4 years old when i first started my slip n' slide love affair. I looked at my two year old walking awkwardly in my shoes and tried to imagine how in the world they were going to be able to really understand or enjoy the slip n' slide for what it was. I didn't worry too much more about it since it still was not warm enough for them to use it anyway. Well since then the weather here in Arizona has become warm enough to let them go outside and play in the water. I let them play in the sprinklers a few times and in their baby pool which they love( but it is clear that it is getting too small for them). So today I decide to bravely go where I'm sure most parents with two year olds don't go... I pulled out the slip n' slide. As I started to unfold it my twins went immediately into what I like to call crazy baby mode. They ran endlessly around the yard screaming and laughing knowing that whatever mommy was setting up was sure to be fun. I finally got the slip n' slide set up and connected the hose then after chasing my little ones around, got them in their suits and drenched in sun screen. This was it the moment I introduce my kids to the Joys of the slip n' slide... Ha! it was like I had expected they had no idea what to do so they slashed in the water and fell down more times then I can count. Then Mommy gets the great idea that it might be more fun for them if she slides them down it. I go for the more daring of my twins miss Blythe and I lay her on her tummy then hurl her down it. there was a slight pause where I'm pretty sure she was trying to decide if that had been fun and the jury comes back with laughter. She loved it then I push Bresse down it and she laughs. They both love mommy pushing them down the slip n' slide. It was very amusing. But after about a half hour mommy was getting tired and it was slightly windy so their bones where trying to shake out of their skin. Even though it was very clear that they were cold they still did not hesitate to cry and beg repeatedly for the wader. The slip n' slide was a hit and even though they cant do it themselves yet they still had lots of fun.
